They realized that this combination, the lack of patient participation and the decline of physician investigators, has been detrimental to the clinical research community. This combination has had a significantly negative impact on clinical trials in this country. Consequently the hopes of many that place their lives in the hands of these trials are in jeopardy. Dr. Alli and Dr. Jacobs decided to utilize their individual skill sets to promote the concept of increasing investigator recruitment.
